Acupuncture
& Chinese Herbal Medicine

Acupuncture
This is perhaps the best complementary medicine in western society, and the one that most say they would be happy to try. It involves inserting fine needles at appropriate points along the invisible channels of motivating energy, which are connected to the organs of the body. Acupuncture does not hurt and the needles are sterile, disposable and for single use only.

Chinese herbal medicine
For hundreds of years, herbs were as vital to western medical preparations as they are to Chinese health care. All hospitals in China have herbal dispensaries. If you are uneasy about taking synthetic drugs, or concerned about their possible side effects, you may prefer to try the herbal alternative. It is effective and safe, and has fewer side effects. Your herbal prescription will be based on a traditional formula, skilfully balanced to address your problem. Adverse reactions to Chinese herbs are extremely rare and are negligible when compared to those commonly produced by pharmaceutical drugs. No endangered species are used in the preparation of our herbal medicine.

Tuina-Chinese manipulation
Tuina provides the best complement to acupuncture as it uses different techniques to apply pressure to the relevant channels

Chinese medicine may be the answer to your problems
Modern Chinese medicine is the result of the clinical experience and time-tested theories of traditional Chinese physicians throughout more than twenty-five centuries of continuous practice. Today, it is the word's oldest, safest and most comprehensive system of medical care. Billions of Chinese, over thousands of years can't be wrong. Chinese medicine is not a last resort. It has been the first choice of countless millions of people over several thousands of years, and is every bit as relevant to your health and quality of life today. In its country of origin Chinese medicine is not seen as an alternative form of therapy, but is used in the state hospitals alongside modern medicine.

The Chinese have a phrase for it: 'Treating the whole person'

Western medicine and Chinese medicine approach illness in fundamentally different ways. Western medicine looks for an external cause or agent of a specific disease, which it isolates, then controls or destroys with drugs or surgery. Chinese medicine takes into account not only the symptoms but also the age, habits, diet, lifestyle, physical and emotional traits and all other aspects of the individual. It then attempts to put together an overall picture of the patient in order to evaluate any patterns of disharmony that have arisen.

Health is a state of total harmony between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual. Illness, on the other hand, is a disharmony that manifests itself as certain symptoms. On their own, the symptoms are often unimportant, being merely a part of the syndromes of harmony or disharmony which makes up the whole person.

Chinese medicine is reliable and comprehensive
When you feel unwell enough to seek medical advice, what would you really like to happen? Firstly, you want to be sure that the practitioner has the time to get to grips properly with what ever is troubling you. Secondly, you need be convinced that the diagnosis is based on your particular conditions. With Chinese medicine, a detailed understanding is needed of your symptoms, medical and family history, lifestyle and diet, your work and emotional states, and examination of the pulse and tongue.

Bespoke treatment
You need to have trust that the treatment prescribed is tailor-made to your requirements. The individual is what Chinese medicine is all about. The course of treatment you receive will be specific to your particular condition and help you to take care and control of your own health.
